Pugsitter Needed

Now I know that this blog goes out to the world-wide-web, which is all world wide and webby, but this message is really just for you folks who know me. You know, the library peeps and our local fans (yes, both of you!). Maybe some of papa's peeps read this blog. You're eligible too.
Here's the thing: my mama just told me that we're going to be abandoned in March for 2 weeks. She's off to see granma and the kiwis, and papa is going too. They're far away, from what I can tell. So mama told me to find myself a pugsitter, or I'll have to go stay in a cage. We don't like cages.
Help us people, you're our only hope!
To be my pugsitter you need to have a house. We like to run around and play, but we're little, so your house can be little too. If you don't have to pay a pet deposit I guess we could stay in an apartment. I know how to stand by the door and ask to go potty. The main point is we're inside dogs. You can't lock us out. I don't like the cold and Bubbles is old.
You absolutely must have a couch or sofa or cushy chair, and we will be jumping up on it, so that has to be OK. I will bring my own bedroll, but I'm used to having a human cushion. I won't lie on a floor if there's a lap or chair available. At night I would love to sleep in your bed, but my family doesn't allow that. They lock us in the kitchen. You can make your own call on that if I hire you to pugsit, but be aware that Bubbles farts a lot, and we both shed.
We don't mind if you don't want to walk us or don't have time every day. We like to sleep. Mama takes us out for about 15 minutes a day for walks, and we need a couple of potty breaks a day (we can hold it for 8 or 10 hours though, if you're at work), and a bit of playtime. But besides that, we'll be sleeping or following you around.
I like kids. I like people. Bubbles doesn't give a damn. We can get along with other dogs too, although you'd have to introduce us properly, and tell your dogs not to jump on us. No hanky panky, OK? We're a bit afraid of big dogs if they jump on us. We like (to chase) cats so if you are cat peeps we might have to do some very careful introductions to make that work. But I'm willing to give it a try if you are.
We especially love old people, and soft people, and lazy people. And young people. We prefer to have a person or two around for a good part of the day, but we can wait if you have to go to school or work. Just so long as you don't mind some big kisses and cuddles when you get home.
So if you know my mama let her know you want to try out to pugsit. We're talking about the last 2 weeks of March. You know, around Easter. We can come and hang out before then and get to know everyone. You can test us out and see what you think. We are willing to offer the right person some financial compensation too. But I know you don't care about that - you just want to have a nice cozy lap-warmer to keep you company for a while.
Sound like a job for you? Then talk to my mama, email her or comment on this blog, and we'll set the whole thing up.
I'm waiting...

middle aged...

Hey folks. I'm a bit down today. Yesterday I had a birthday... my 6th. So that's it. I'm officially middle aged. Mama didn't make too much of a scene, but she did keep reminding me all day, and she laughed right in my face and said "half way there" with such glee. And she laughed at my pimple. Yep, I'm middle aged and I still have pimples. What's up with that?
So what's so bad about being middle aged? Well, what have I achieved so far in my life? I have never had a real relationship with a boy dog, I don't have any puppies to love me, and in fact I don't think I will have any puppies, and I don't even have a career. Most people think I'm completely worthless. I try to keep my people happy and warm, but I have to admit that I'm really a self centred pug. I am addicted to the world of sense pleasures (belly rubs especially). I can't even meditate without falling asleep. I don't know how to be a better pug, and I think it's going to be all downhill from here.
I criticize the Bubbles, but in truth I pity her. She has known many other dogs, and has had countless pug puppies. But her breeders stole them all and sold them for a profit. How cruel is that? And then they tossed her aside, and left her endlessly looking for her babies, grooming anyone who sits within reach. I don't think she'll ever be happy.
This life is full of suffering for us. I've been throwing a pity party for myself, but I shouldn't be so shallow. There are many dogs out there who have it worse than me. I will count my blessings.
  • I have good people
  • Cheese
  • Tiny tennis balls make me happy
  • Mama is clumsy and gravity makes food fall
  • I'm not as old as Bubbles
  • Seattle Pug Rescue looks out for my best interests
  • Walks in the park
  • Cheese

May all beings be happy, may all beings be at ease

Pugoween Pictures

This is the one they call Bubbles, posing for a picture at Pugoween. My people called her "Count Pugula". They made the costumes for us. I got really sick of them waking us up and trying these stupid outfits on us. Although they were warm. And Pugula worked the crowd and got a lot of attention. I like to stay close to my people. They had cheesy snacks and a banana with them, and they know I want a belly-rub when I give them a kiss. Other people think I'm just being friendly. But that was the deal we made - a kiss for a rub. Unless the people have been eating cheese or drinking beer. Mmmm... cheese and beer breath....

These were some of the best costumes I saw. There was a princess, a witch, and look at Princess Leia! She was pretty cool for an old girl. And there were lobsters and a shark and 2 skunks and a cute Seahawks puppy. My people liked him a lot. They better not get one, or I'll have to take him out. I'm the baby. I don't want some stinkin puppy around here. Anyway, I had my cushion upload some pictures she liked - hopefully she didn't make a mess of it.

Hey, it's me. Like it says, they call me Mimi. I'm having a pretty good time here. I just wanted to get this "blog" thing started so I can get back to my nap, but my people really wanted me to have my picture on the web too.

So here it is. This is me yesterday. My people took us on a road trip then stuck me in this silly outfit and called me Superpug. We had a meeting in this big community center. There were about 50 of my kind there, and we called it "Pugoween" so our people wouldn't know what we were really up to.

I don't have much more to say right now. I'll get back to you with pictures of the one they call Bubbles later. She got to dress up as Count Pugula, and she got lots of leads on new families for us if we decide to jump ship. She's asleep right now, like I should be.

Later people.
